As a Foundation that also focuses on providing emergency aid to the poor, needy and less privileged, the DAQVAH Charity Foundation has on Saturday 2nd of May, prior to the second three days lockdown, responded to the needs of the vulnerable by providing packs of food and cash to beggars along the Central Business District, deprived communities, vulnerable individuals and to the Voice Of The Youth Organisation that is running a home for Street children currently situated at ED Williams Compound, Jomo Kenyata Road.

“Considering the importance of food to human existence in such an emergency time, it is but very significant to have such type of distribution at a trying time like this. It is in doing so that the DAQVAH Charity Foundation exactly fits in, as a Foundation that is committed to provide emergency aid. The #emptybowlchallenge donations this time around doesn’t only focus on fasting persons, but also considered needy people in general, prior to the second 3 days lockdown declared by the President”. The Project Lead, DAQVAH Reach the Unreachable Project, Mohamed Alhassan Jalloh stated.

Receiving the donation on behalf of staff and management of Voice Of The Youth Organisation, the head of the organisation, Mohamed Hunter Conteh expressed appreciation for the kind gesture and assured the DAQVAH Charity Foundation that they will surely use it for the right purpose. He further stated that, the home currently have about 50 children that they are taking care of, ensuring they keep them away from stigmatization and other related challenges street children face day by day..

About 50 family heads including beggars, vulnerable families and communities also benefited from the distribution with packs of food and cash that hopefully will serve them throughout the lockdown period and some days after.

The distribution successful ended with prayers for donors from the beneficiaries.
